SPECIAL EVENTS Thursday 11/10 FREE LECTUREThe Deering Estate at Cutler presents a free lecture on the second Thursday of each month. This month "The Florida East Coast Railway: For More Than 110 Years America's Speedway to Sunshine" is given by Seth Bramson, who is a historian of transportation to, from and within Florida. He is company historian of the Florida East Coast Railway and author of "Speedway to Sunshine: the Story of the Florida East Coast Railway," as well as other books all relating to South Florida and Florida transportation history. 7 p.m. Deering Estate at Cutler, 16701 SW 72nd Ave., visitor center auditorium, Palmetto Bay. Saturday 11/12 MIAMI RIVER WALKPhotographer Karl Koslowski teaches a beginners digital photography course as part of the Miami Circle's Miami River Walk and digital photo class. The class includes an afternoon stroll along the Miami River and Biscayne Bay with HistoryMiami's eco-historian Frank Schena for attendees to put their camera skills to use. 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. $25 HistoryMiami members. $35 others.
