UNLIKELY LEADER
In 2010 French film "Potiche," an elegant trophy wife takes over operations of her husband's umbrella factory when striking workers take him hostage. Suzanne — played by Catherine Deneuve — proves a surprisingly successful leader and finds herself reunited with an old fling played by Gérard Depardieu. Things get messy when her husband returns in this 1970s-based film. 6:30 p.m. Miami Dade College Tower Theater, 1508 SW Eighth St., Miami. $5 for MDC students, seniors and Miami Film Society members. $6 others. AMONG MONKS
Loosely based on the true story of the Cistercian monks of Tibhirine in Algeria, "Of Gods and Men" follows the tensions that unfold among a once peaceful, coexisting group of French Christian monks and Muslims. Calm crumbles after a group of foreign workers is murdered by an Islamic fundamentalist group. 8:45 p.m. Miami Dade College Tower Theater, 1508 SW Eighth St., Miami. $5 for MDC students, seniors and Miami Film Society members. $6 others.
