   Since the Miami River Greenway Action Plan was adopted by government entities in 2001, walkways along the bay and river in downtown Miami have intermittently developed. The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce has recently adopted an initiative to connect the two in a continuous riverwalk/baywalk.
