   In Jean-François Richet’s 2008 film "Mesrine: Public Enemy #1," convict Jacques Mesrine establishes a household name writing his memoirs from maximum-security prison. He feeds the fire with another daring escape, taunting the police and reinventing himself as a celebrity criminal. Yet with any such perilous rise to notoriety, his world comes crashing down. Vincent Cassel won "Best Actor" at the César Awards, √Čtoiles d’Or, Lumiere Awards and the Tokyo International Film Festival for his role in the film.    Miami Jazz Society presents free screenings of "A Thousand Clowns" and "King of Hearts" as part of its film series. Includes a reception with free food and a cash bar. "A Thousand Clowns" follows a twelve-year-old boy who lives with his eccentric uncle, forced to conform to society to keep custody of his nephew. And in World War II-period "King of Hearts," patients from a French town’s insane asylum take over after other inhabitants flee, fearing news of a bomb left by the Germans. 5-6 p.m. reception. 6 p.m. "Clowns" screening. 8:15 p.m. "King" screening.    The American Nicaraguan Chamber of Commerce hosts an opening-night reception launching the first US screening of Nicaraguan feature film "La Yuma." Event includes a pre-show reception with open bar, film screening and a question-and-answer session with director Florence Jaugey. "La Yuma" is the story of a strong-willed young woman from a poor Managua, Nicaragua neighborhood who dreams of becoming a boxer. Watch her fight for her dream amid troubles with her dysfunctional family, a violent gang scene and her love affair with a well-to-do college student. 6 p.m. reception. 7 p.m. screening.
