Cuban theater company Teatro El Público performs its first show in the US, "La Amargas Lágrimas de Petra Von Kant" ("The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant"), as part of the "Out in the Tropics" gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender contemporary performing arts festival. A reinterpretation of the classic film by German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder, this version comes with a twist: the three main female characters are involved in a dark, dramatic yet hilarious lesbian love triangle.
