Tuesday 6/29 DANGERS OF BLENDING IN"The Madonnas of Echo Park" is the story of a Mexican-American community in California and their struggles to lose their ethnic identity while pursuing the American dream. When a dozen or so of the girls and women gather on a street corner to act out a music video, they find themselves in the midst of a drive-by shooting. This event causes a mother and daughter to grow distant, as the daughter forms a unique friendship with a detached housewife.
