TORMENTED MIND

   Argentine thriller film "El Secreto de sus Ojos" ("The Secret in their Eyes") follows a retired court investigator tormented by a violent case from his past he can’t seem to forget. HAUNTING VISUALS

   Based on a Franz Kafka novel, Orson Welles’ 1962 film "The Trial" centers on a man wrestling with accusations of a crime that is never revealed.    Swedish 2009 thriller "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" follows a journalist and a computer hacker hired to investigate the disappearance of young Harriet Vanger. BEHIND THE PROPAGANDA

   German 2009 documentary "HARLAN: In The Shadow of Jew Süss" delves into the life and mind of Veit Harlan, one of Nazi Germany’s most notorious filmmakers. His anti-Semitic propaganda film "Jew Süss" was required viewing for all SS members and his 1945 "Kolberg" was the basis for the film-within-a-film depicted in the recently acclaimed "Inglourious Basterds." 7 p.m. Additional showing on May 2.
