CREATURE OF PEACE
The Playground Theatre presents Pulitzer Prize-winner Nilo Cruz's adaptation of Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel García Márquez's "A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings." Directed with children in mind, the play follows two children who discover a mysterious creature resembling an old man with gigantic wings that falls from the sky one evening in a remote Caribbean town. The villagers' initial reaction of fear turns to understanding as they realize that this "angel" means no harm and is rather a symbol of healing and love. 10 a.m. Additional performances at various times through March 14. The PlayGround Theatre, 9806 NE Second Ave., Miami Shores. $15. Details: (305) 751-9550 ext. 233 or dianne@theplaygroundtheatre.com or www.theplaygroundtheatre.com.
