   Based on Ludwig Bemelmans’ popular book series, "Madeline’s Christmas" begins like an ordinary day for the 12 girls in the old house in Paris. Yet soon after, Madeline is the only one of the little girls in Ms. Clavel’s care who hasn’t come down with the flu on Christmas day.    The Jewish Museum of Florida hosts a family friendly portrait painting event on Christmas Day. Children and family members can create portraits of themselves, each other or friends with provided materials.    Keep the kids occupied and out of trouble during winter break at various camps organized by Miami-Dade Parks. Offerings include a general-program camp packed with fitness activities, arts and crafts and games, and specialized camps like an EcoAdventures nature camp, a performing arts camp, programs for children with disabilities and a camp at Deering Estate where participants will learn about early South Florida history, archeology and nature. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Early drop-off at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up at 6 p.m. available.
