   The Playground Theatre hosts a production of the Sumerian legend "Inanna and the Huluppu Tree." The 4,000-year-old story tells of celebrating the victory of the young goddess, Inanna, who restores harmony to an ancient city ravaged by endless storms and angry gods. Ends Dec. 20. PARISIAN PLAY

   Based on Ludwig Bemelmans’ popular book series, "Madeline’s Christmas" begins like an ordinary day for the 12 girls in the old house in Paris. Yet soon after, Madeline is the only one of the little girls in Ms. Clavel’s care who hasn’t come down with the flu on Christmas day. With everyone but Madeline sick in bed, can she save their holiday cheer? 2 p.m. Actors’ Playhouse at Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables. Ends Dec. 26.    Santa and his elves will be on hand at the North Pole Miami style at the West End Winter Wonderland event, held by the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department. Instead of snow, bubbles will fill the park. Activities include holiday arts and crafts, bounce houses, family games like tug-of-war and relay races and pictures with Santa himself. 6-9 p.m. West End Park, 250 SW 60 Ave., Miami. $4.    Keep the kids occupied and out of trouble during winter break at various camps organized by Miami-Dade Parks. Offerings include a general-program camp packed with fitness activities, arts & crafts and games and specialized camps like an EcoAdventures nature camp, a performing arts camp, programs for children with disabilities and a camp at Deering Estate where participants will learn about early South Florida history, archeology and nature. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Early drop-off at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up at 6 p.m. is available. CREATIVE KIDS

   The Playground Theatre holds two winter-break mini camps, allowing children to express their creative side through improvisation, dance and music activities. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The Playground Theatre, 9806 NE 2nd Ave., Miami Shores. $120 per session. JR. ROCKET SCIENCE

   Miami Science Museum holds a winter camp for young scientists, during which children will get to see and touch real fossils, build and launch your own rocket and perform electrifying experiments. 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Miami Science Museum, 3280 South Miami Ave. Ends Dec. 24. SANTA SNAPSHOTS

   Santa Claus will be vacationing in Coral Gables this week, putting on his best smile for a close up with your children. Pictures with Santa will be available in Coral Gables through Wednesday (12/23). 5-10 p.m. Coral Gables City Hall, 405 Biltmore Way, Coral Gables.
