| ART Thursday 12/10 UNDERDOG ARTTouting itself as the smallest art fair in town, "Little Sister 09" showcases the works of both veteran and new-to-the-scene Miami artists. AFRICAN INFLUENCE "Black Crossroads: The African Diaspora in Miami" explores the impact of African-Americans, Africans, black Caribs and black Hispanics on Miami through historic photographs, oral histories, memorabilia, film and artifacts related to black pioneers, families, laborers, communities and organizations spanning the 100-year history of black migration to Miami. FINDING PEACE Florida International University's Frost Art Museum shows "The Missing Peace." The exhibition, the result of collaboration between the Committee of 100 for Tibet and the Dalai Lama Foundation, focuses on art as a medium for promoting peace. Details: (305) 348-2890 or www.thefrost.fiu.edu. A LATIN AMERICAN MASTER Miami Art Museum hosts what it calls the most comprehensive survey of the works of Argentinean painter Guillermo Kuitca. The exhibit, in the museum and the Freedom Tower downtown, features more than 50 canvases and 25 works on paper. In his work, Mr. Kuitca explores the intersection of public and private spaces. HIGHWAY FASHIONS The Wolfsonian-Florida International University will exhibit "Styled for the Road: The Art of Automobile Design." The collection examines automobile design's effect on American culture through rendered artworks of 1940s and 1950s cars of all shapes and sizes. Ends March 14. The exhibit catches moments of frustration and silliness in the media of aluminum, wood, plastic, acrylic paints, color pencils and other mixed materials. The exhibit includes a man playing tug-of-war over a shoe with his dog, a woman cleaning a never-ending stack of dirty dishes and caricatures of over-worked Americans. FIGURE PAINT The Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery hosts a collection by local artist Anne Blazejack. THE ART OF IMITATION The Rubell Family Collection's exhibition "Beg Borrow and Steal" features the work of 74 artists.
