HOLIDAY LIGHTS
   Santa Claus will be on hand as the Village of Merrick Park shopping complex lights its 50-foot Christmas tree for the first time this holiday season. Festivities include a musical performance by the Coral Gables Senior High School choir, children's activities and an appearance by Santa Claus himself. SAVING THE CITY
   The Playground Theatre hosts a production of the Sumerian legend "Inanna and the Huluppu Tree." The 4,000-year-old story tells of celebrating the victory of the young goddess, Inanna, who restores harmony to an ancient city ravaged by endless storms and angry gods. Ends Dec. 20.    Orchestra Miami puts on a free Thanksgiving-themed concert for the whole family. In "Tough Turkey in the Big City: A Feathered Tale," wide-eyed Tom Turkey ventures to New York City upon hearing Farmer Brown say the big city is "for the birds," embarking on a series of adventures that land him in a big parade. 4 p.m. Miami Beach Community Church, 1630 Drexel Ave., Miami Beach.
