REGGAE REVOLUTIONARY
   The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts presents a stage performance of "The Harder They Come." Based on the Jimmy Cliff movie that put reggae music on the worldwide stage, the play follows a young Kingston man with dreams of becoming a reggae star. Ends Sept. 13. THE REAL HOLLYWOOD
   GableStage presents "Speed-The-Plow" by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet. The play follows two greedy Hollywood executives set to pitch a can't-lose deal to the studio boss but an unlikely obstacle, a seductive secretary, creates unexpected complications. Ends Sept. 13. BATTLE OF THE SEXES
   The New Theatre opens its season with a performance of William Shakespeare's comedy "The Taming of The Shrew." This classic battle-of-the-sexes play is the tale of a shrewish woman and her strong-willed husband, both wreaking havoc on the conventions of courtship and marriage. Ends Sept. 27. A TASTE OF AMERICANA
   The University of Miami's Jerry Herman Ring Theater presents a performance of "Smokey Joe's Café: The Music of Leiber and Stoller." The play, which was a hit on Broadway, follows the work of songwriters and producers Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller who are partially credited with popularizing rock 'n' roll. Ends Sept. 19.
