CELEBRATING DECO

   The Miami Design Preservation League celebrates the 30th anniversary of the "Art Deco Historic District’s" entry into the National Register of Historic Places with tours of the area throughout the day. The 90-minute tour provides an introduction to the Art Deco, Mediterranean Revival, and Miami Modern styles found on Miami Beach Architectural Historic District. Noon. WINE AND WOMEN

   Azul, the Mandarin Oriental’s award-winning restaurant, presents its "Wine and Women" seminar.    Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez and Miami Metrozoo host the Mayor’s Bar-B-Que Backyard Ball benefiting the United Way of Miami-Dade County. GREEN GALA

   Communities in Schools in Miami celebrates its 20th anniversary with the GreenRaising Gala. The event will feature gourmet dining providing by local, organic farms, eco-friendly live performances and a silent auction with eco-friendly items. BEACH GALA

   The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce honors a trio of local icons for their contributions to the community during its 87th gala and silent auction. Alonzo and Tracy Mourning will receive the Jan Pfeiffer Distinguished Service Award, Jeffrey Soffer, executive chairman of Fontainebleau Resorts, will receive the Corporate Citizen of the Year award, and Steven Haas, co-owner of Soyka Restaurant, and incoming chairman of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, will receive the Leonard "Doc" Baker Lifetime Achievement Award. 7 p.m. Fontainebleau Resort, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. $350. CASINO FOR A CAUSE

   The Collection hosts the James Bond-themed "Casino Night 2009" featuring such classic games as black jack, craps, roulette and poker.
