THEATER IN UNIFORM
   GableStage at the Biltmore presents a production of John Patrick Shanley's "Defiance." The play, set on a Marine Corps base in 1971, follows two officers, one black, the other white, who are on a collision course over race, women and the high cost of doing the right thing. FAMILY DRAMA
   The New Theatre hosts a production of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie." The play follows a young man, Tom, who is torn between his family obligations and his desire to escape his domineering mother, Amanda, and his frail sister, Laura. VIVE LA REVOLUTION
   The Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre hosts the regional premiere of the Tony Award-winning masterpiece "Les Misérables." Based on the book by Claude-Michel Schoënberg and Alain Boublil, the play tells the saga of social injustice and the triumph of the human spirit through heart-wrenching ballads and a powerful ensemble.
