OPEN BARRE
The Miami City Ballet will trade its ballet slippers for jazz shoes during the Open Barre program titled "Urban Jazz." The evening will begin with a cocktail reception followed by a performance of "Lounge 2200." The performance is choreographed by Rafi Maldonado, head of Miami City Ballet School's jazz department, and set to the soulful music of the 1950s and '60s. 6:30 p.m. 2200 Liberty Ave., Miami Beach.
