Claudine Claus growing Home Financing Center's market share after avoiding the mistakes that brought grief to other lenders
For 25 years, Home Financing Center has been providing loans to Miamians — home loans and only home loans. "I think that we've done mortgages well. I think that we do them better than anybody because we specialize in mortgages," President and CEO Claudine Claus says.
Ms. Claus is carrying on the tradition of her parents, who founded the business. The company still follows the philosophy of its early days.
Also to continue to thrive in rough economic conditions, Ms. Claus plans to continue to foster business-to-business relationships. Already, Home Financing Center handles mortgages for community banks and credit unions. The company works with employers such as the City of Miami to help get employees into homes. And there are more partnerships to be built, Ms. Claus says. She shared her vision for the company and her take on the credit crisis with Miami Today staff writer Risa Polansky.
