THEATER IN UNIFORM
   GableStage at the Biltmore presents a production of John Patrick Shanley's "Defiance." The play, set on a Marine Corps base in 1971, follows two officers, one black, the other white, who are on a collision course over race, women and the high cost of doing the right thing. FAMILY DRAMA
   The New Theatre hosts a production of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie." The play follows a young man, Tom, who is torn between his family obligations and his desire to escape his domineering mother, Amanda, and his frail sister, Laura. A LIFE OF TRUTH
   The M Ensemble Company continues its 2008-09 Season with "A Woman Called Truth written by Sandra Fenichel Ashe. The play is based on the life of Sojourner Truth and chronicles her life up to the day of her freedom and her subsequent achievements. 8 p.m. Thursday though Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. Ends March 1. PLAYING PEANUTS
   University of Miami's Jerry Herman Ring Theatre presents a performance of the comic-strip classic "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." The musical will bring together Snoopy and the rest of the memorable cast to delight audiences of all ages with such scenes as Charlie's disappointments on Valentine's Day to Snoopy's flying ace battling the red baron. 8 p.m. Feb. 20, 26 and 28. SOUTH-FLORIDA OPERA
   The University of Miami hosts a performance of Mozart's opera "Così Fan Tutte." The opera follows two young men who wage war over their lovers' fidelity. The cost, however, could be more than either of them could have imagined. The opera will be sung in Italian with English subtitles accompanied by the Frost Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Sleeper. 8 p.m. Feb. 26-28. 1 p.m. March 1. VIVE LA REVOLUTION
   The Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre hosts the regional premiere of the Tony Award-winning masterpiece "Les Misérables." Based on the book by Claude-Michel Schoënberg and Alain Boublil, the play tells the saga of social injustice and the triumph of the human spirit through heart-wrenching ballads and a powerful ensemble.
