THEATER Thursday 2/12 AVIAN THEATERPlaywright Len Jenkin updates Aristophanes' "The Birds" to include real-estate developers, computer sex addicts, dirty politicians and televangelists. The play follows a washed-up comic and his manager as they flee bad debts and unsavory associates in Las Vegas. Somehow they end up in a paradise of the birds and hatch a plan to blackmail the gods. 8 p.m. Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays. Ends. Feb. 22. "AIDA" The Miami Children's Theater puts on a production of Elton John and Tim Rice's "Aida." The show is a contemporary musical take on the classic love story between a soldier and an enslaved princess. RISKY ROMANCE New Theatre presents a performance of "Kissing" by Robert Caisley. Things heat up in this quirky romantic comedy and lives spin out of control when two co-workers kiss during an office softball game. THE LIFE OF TRUTH The M Ensemble Company continues its 2008-09 Season with "A Woman Called Truth written by Sandra Fenichel Ashe The play is based on the life of Sojourner Truth and chronicles her life up to the day of her freedom and her subsequent achievements. 8 p.m. Thursday though Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. Wednesday 2/18 PLAYING PEANUTSUniversity of Miami's Jerry Herman Ring Theatre presents a performance of the comic-strip classic "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." The musical will bring together Snoopy and the rest of the memorable cast to delight audiences of all ages with such scenes as Charlie's disappointments on Valentine's Day to Snoopy's flying ace battling the red baron. 8 p.m. Feb. 18, 20, 26 and 28.
