THEATER

Thursday 1/29

RISKY ROMANCE
New Theatre presents a performance of "Kissing" by Robert Caisley. Things heat up in this quirky romantic comedy and lives spin out of control when two co-workers kiss during an office softball game. The play looks at the biology and sociology of kissing just in time for Valentine's Day. 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. Sunday. Ends Feb. 15. 4120 Laguna St., Coral Gables. $40. Details: (305) 443-5909 or www.new-theatre.com.
KEEP ON COUNTING
Darkly comic and heartbreakingly beautiful, the award-winning musical adaptation of Elmer Rice's 1923 play "Adding Machine" tells the story of Mr. Zero, who after 25 years of service to his company is replaced by a mechanical adding machine. The play is a satiric view of capitalism that bears comparison with today's unsettled economy. Ends Feb 1. GableStage at the Biltmore, 1200 Anastasia Ave., Coral Gables. Details: (305) 446-1116 or www.gablestage.org.
BEACHY BOMBSHELLS
The Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre hosts the world premiere of the play based on the book, "The Miami Bombshells." It's the story of six imperfect women who grew from stressed out strangers to lifelong friends. Ends Feb. 8. Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables. Details: (305) 444-9293 or www.actorsplayhouse.org.
OPERATIC FAIRY TALE
The Florida Grand Opera's second performance of the season will be Gioachino Rossini's "La Cenerentola," more commonly known as "Cinderella." In Rossini's original opera, the prince uses matching bracelets rather than the traditional glass slippers to find Cenerentola. Jan. 30 and 31. Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. Details: (800) 741-1010 or www.fgo.org.
