Thursday 9/11

   The Lowe Art Museum hosts speaker Sue D’Auria for a presentation examining ancient Egyptian’s unique burial traditions. Her lecture will cover all aspects of preparation for the voyage to the afterlife including treatment of the body, religious and magical artifacts to accompany the deceased, and the tomb that housed it all. 7 p.m. The Lowe Art Museum, 1301 Stanford Drive, Coral Gables. WINE TASTING AT DEERING

   The Deering Estate is hosting the Seventh Annual fall wine tasting "Wine on Harvest Moon." This year’s event has been dubbed "The Essence of Spain," featuring Spanish-inspired wine, food and art. 7-10 p.m. The Deering Estate at Cutler, 16701 SW 72nd Ave., Miami. $60 for members, $75 for nonmembers. DOCKSIDE DONORS

   The Kristi House and Royal Caribbean host "A Taste of Freedom," an afternoon of food and entertainment benefiting child sexual-abuse victims.    Massage Envy and Susan G. Komen for the Cure team up to relax muscles across the country and help find a cure for breast cancer. All proceeds benefit the Miami, Fort Lauderdale affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and will build upon the $360,000 the event has raised over the past three years. 8 a.m.-10 p.m. All five Massage Envy locations in Miami-Dade County.
