Thursday 9/11

   The Roxy Theater Group is hosting an after-school program for children 5-14 offering homework assistance, educational activities, arts and crafts, and a drama program culminating in an end-of-year musical. 2:30-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Roxy Performing Arts Center, 1645 SW 107th Ave., Sweetwater. $25 registration fee, $15 per week for children in grades K-5, $10 per week for children in grades 6-8. TIGHTS FOR TOTS

KIDS’ CLASSES

   The ArtCenter/South Florida is sponsoring art classes for children throughout the fall.    A must read for any mother considering plastic surgery.    Children’s author Jon Agee will be part of Books and Books’ "Kids Only Retirement Party." Saturday 9/13

   The Children’s Trust is hosting the family expo at which more than 200 non-profit organizations, community groups and governmental agencies, most funded by the Children’s Trust, will host games, activities and workshops. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition, Arnold Hall, 10901 SW 24th St., Westchester. Tuesday 9/16

   Oscar Hijuelos will be signing copies of his book "Dark Dude," in Coral Gables.
