Allen Morris bringing new ultra-luxury to Gables office market as 2nd generation developer continues unconventional practice

Fifty years after father L. Allen Morris founded The Allen Morris Company, W. Allen Morris continues to lead the development powerhouse with similar philosophies: Go against the grain, start new trends, but stay scared.
After opening the company's 78th development project, the plush Alhambra Towers office building in Coral Gables, Mr. Morris has turned his attention to taking luxury to the next level in his latest endeavor: Ponce de Leon Towers. The 15-story office building is to be part of the planned seven-acre Old Spanish Village project of high-end shops and residences in Coral Gables and is to be a cut above Class A, Mr. Morris says, with the latest technology and deluxe amenities.
A pilot, black-belt martial artist, antique collector and world traveler, Mr. Morris believes, in addition to his go-getter professional philosophies, that "travel is the best education there is." He was interviewed in his Alhambra Towers office by Miami Today staff writer Risa Polansky.
