Modern photographs
   Life, architecture and art during the 20th and 21st centuries will be showcased at Miami Art Museum. The Modern Photographs: The Machine, The Body and The City collection features dozens of photographs donated by ex-curator Charles Cowles. The exhibition opens today (11/16). Various times at 101 W. Haunting stills
   Haunting images from Hollywood movies will be seen at Miami Art Museum's Video Gallery. Artist Matthias Müller used sepia-toned film footages to create the ghostly images. The video exhibition begins Friday. Various times at 101 W. Flagler St., Miami.

Musical art
   Vizcaya Museum and Gardens presents the opening of its contemporary-art projects with a musical installation. Experimental sound artist Gustavo Matamoros has created a surround-sound installation inspired by the pipe organ at Vizcaya. A microphone attached to a helium balloon was used to create recordings that will be projected throughout the museum. The exhibition opens today (11/6). Various times at 3251 S. Miami Ave., Miami. $9-$12.

Animal art
   Sculptures and drawings of beasts will be featured at the Bestiario exhibition. Friday's opening reception features artworks by Lucia Ballester. 7 p.m. at Nuez Art Gallery, 1648 SW Eighth St., Miami. Free.

Harvest festival
   Historical Museum of Southern Florida presents the 30th annual Harvest Festival. The two-day event features historical re-enactments, music, antique cars and activities for children.
