Mark Trowbridge adds to his resumé of community service with presidency of Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce

The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce on Friday will begin a two-day goals conference at which it will define its plans and aspirations for the coming year. It does so as it welcomes a new staffer to lead the effort to achieve those objectives.
Coming in as president and CEO, effective Aug. 7, is Mark Trowbridge, 38, deputy executive director for business development of the Miami Parking Authority, where he is responsible for planning and managing capital construction projects and directing the agency's public relations and marketing strategies.
Selected by unanimous vote of the chamber's board of directors after a two-month search, Mr. Trowbridge succeeds Lettie Bien, who resigned earlier this year, saying she did not agree with the board about strategy for the 900-member organization.
Mr. Trowbridge has been active in the South Florida community with Leadership Miami, Switchboard of Miami, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the University of Florida Alumni Association. He has been director of student activities and organizations at the University of Miami, volunteer coordinator for the South Florida Super Bowl XXIII Host Committee and assistant director of the South Florida Breeders' Cup and Ocean Race Miami.
He was interviewed by Miami Today international editor Michael Hayes.
