Miami native Frances Sevilla-Sacasa to help U.S. Trust Corp. enter South Florida as new president of New York company

A Miami banker with extensive experience here in wealth management has been named to head one of the nation's leading companies in that field, the 150-year-old U.S. Trust Corp. in New York.
She is Frances Aldrich Sevilla-Sacasa, who became president of the subsidiary of the Charles Schwab Corp. on Nov. 14.
Under her leadership, U.S. Trust next year will open regional offices - dubbed centers of excellence - around the country, including one on Brickell Avenue. While maintaining a home here, Ms. Sevilla-Sacasa will work out of the New York headquarters and commute regularly.
She heads a company with 2,366 employees in 35 offices around the US, $107 billion in assets under management and total client assets of $146 billion.
Before taking on her new role, her career included senior positions with Bankers Trust International Private Banking Corp., Deutsche Bank's Latin America private banking practice and most recently with Citigroup, where she was president of Latin America private banking, ran the Europe Region private bank and also headed the Global Wealth Structuring business.
Mr. Sevilla-Sacasa was interviewed in Miami by Miami Today international editor Michael Hayes.
