MIAMI RIVER BOAT TOUR
   Paul George of the Historical Museum of Southern Florida will give a tour along the banks of the Miami River where the Tequesta Indians settled. The boat tour includes sights such as the Miami Circle archaeological site near the mouth of the river, colorful tugboats, Haitian freighters, houseboats and drawbridges. Lesser-known Miami River communities, parks, restaurants and freshwater springs will be visited. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. $34-$39. RSVP required. Details: (305) 375-1621.

'CARS & FISH'
   The Miami Performing Arts Center presents "Cars & Fish," a multimedia installation, the first large-scale public event produced on the grounds. The center has commissioned video artist Charles Recher and composer Gustavo Matamoros to create a video-and-sound installation. 6:30 p.m. at the Plaza for the Arts, Miami Performing Arts Center, 1444 Biscayne Blvd., Miami.
