ART Thursday 6/2 GAY PRIDE EXHIBITIONArtCenter South Florida presents At Home, a photography-based exhibition featuring artists Alex Heris, George Lebar and Blakey Ross and photographers Phillip Ross Munro, Lara Stein Pardo and Ivan Molina. TRANSPARENT VISIONS In this collaborative exhibition, Kimberly Maxwell and Elaine Carlson toy with the ideas of translucency and transparency and how they pertain to life around us. LAST PICTURE SHOW Our understanding of photography and what makes it art is explored in The Last Picture Show: Artists Using Photography, 1960-1982. VISIONS OF THE CARIBBEAN Illustrations, maps, prints and photographs explore the Caribbean from the 16th century to the present. THE ART OF WRAPPING The Bass Museum of Art features finished public art projects by artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. GOD'S PAINTBRUSH Works by Panamanian artist Sheila Lichacz, who has been displayed at the Contemporary Religious Art Collection at the Vatican and the Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives in Harvard University. Her latest collection, God's Paintbrush, features multimedia works using pre-Columbian pottery shards and seashells. SWAMP CABBAGE Locust Projects and TransEAT/Food Cultural Museum present Julie Khan's free multidisciplinary visual and culinary art work, Swamp Cabbage: Cracker Culture in a Fast Food Nation.
