ART & DESIGN NIGHT
Retailers and galleries in Miami’s Design District extend their hours until 9 p.m. for Art and Design Night, featuring exhibitions, cocktails, live music and special events the second Thursday of every month. Lowe Art Museum presents an exhibition featuring the art of Chan Lowe and Jim Morin, South Florida political cartoonists. SOUTH FLORIDA ARTISTS
Miami Art Museum will present the work of 13 artists selected as recipients of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Visual and Media Artists. The Lowe Art Museum will present UnNaturally, an exhibit featuring 43 works created with artificial materials that raise issues about our mediated environment. MIAMI BEACH VINTAGE
The Miami Design Preservation League presents its Wish You Were Here exhibit featuring vintage postcards of Miami Beach’s historic architecture. With more than 200 postcards, the historical styles include Mediterranean Revival, Art Deco and Modern. LIGHT AND ATMOSPHERE
The Miami Art Museum will present Light and Atmosphere, an exhibit representing artists perception of light and air. Presentations include painting, photography, video, sculpture and installations. ART IN THE AFTERNOON
The Homestead Art Club will host Art in the Afternoon, an afternoon for the public to view artists at work, see demonstrations by painters, culinary creators and others, share a potluck meal and meet the artists. The Museum of Contemporary Art will present In Situ, the permanent collection of large-scale installations by contemporary artists. The Patricia & Phillip Frost Museum will host Lespri Endepandan: Discovering Haitian Sculpture. The exhibit will feature a diverse selection from Haitian sculptors, spanning over the past 50 years to present, combining non-traditional styles with their artistic independence. DIANA: A CELEBRATION
The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale presents an exhibition celebrating the life and work of Diana, Princess of Wales. Authentic memorabilia, film footage and a collection of 28 dresses including her royal wedding gown. All proceeds will benefit the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. MIAMI ART MUSEUM
