‘WAIT AND SEE’
The New Theatre presents the world premiere of "Wait and See," by Michael McKeever. Cole Porter’s "Anything Goes" is a romantic musical comedy about a nightclub singer, a debutante and a gangster who secretly slips onto a ship to avoid the FBI. 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 10 at Broward Stage Door Theatre, 8036 W Sample Rd., Coral Springs. $26-$29. ‘ANNA IN THE TROPICS’
Coconut Grove playhouse presents "Anna in the Tropics," a funny and tragic story set in Tampa of a family of Cuban cigar makers and a man hired to entertain the tobacco workers in the factory. The author and director, Nilo Cruz, is a 2003 Pulitzer Prize winner and a 2004 Tony Award nominee. Through Oct. 4 at Coconut Grove Playhouse, 3500 Main Hwy., Coconut Grove. $35-$45. Jerry Herman Ring Theatre will present "Tintypes," a musical that looks at the American life in song. The show will go back in time to the changing world of automobiles, electricity and telephones.
