'WHITE PEOPLE'
   The New Theatre presents play about three characters that tell their stories in monologue form. The focus of the play is to show how each character is racist in different and subtle ways that illustrate the extent to which racism permeates modern society. 8 p.m. today (5/13), Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. 4120 Laguna St., Coral Gables. 'THE UNDERPANTS'
   The Actor's Playhouse will present Steve Martin's adaptation of Carl Sternheim's comedy written in 1910 that tells the story of the young wife of a puritanical bureaucrat who has allowed her underpants to fall to the ground at a parade for the king. The play addresses the issues of race, women's rights and a husband's ownership of his wife. 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays through June 13 at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables. $9. 'THE CARRIAGE'
   The Coconut Grove Playhouse and Mercy Hospital will present the play about self-consciousness and accountability, specifically in adolescence. Making a Difference awards will be presented after the performance to honor community mentors and mentoring programs. 7 p.m. at the Coconut Grove Playhouse, 3500 Main Highway, Coconut Grove. Free.
