MARGARET ATWOOD LECTURE
Booker Prize-winning author of "The Blind Assassin" and "The Handmaid's Tale" will read and discuss her most recent work, "Oryx and Crake," a story that revises the Book of Genesis and adds a postscript to the Apocalypse. Aventura Mall will host event in recognition of April as National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. This program appoints volunteer advocates to protect the interest of at-risk children in the Juvenile Court system. The sixth annual Caring Chefs for Kids event to benefit the Children's Home Society of Florida will feature live entertainment and food provided by The Ritz-Carlton, CafÈ Tu Tu Tango, Havana Harry's and others along with samplings from Chicken Kitchen for the kids.
