THE OUTSIDERS
   The Miami Children's Theater brings the critically acclaimed novel written by S.E. Hinto when she was 16 years old. This story told through the eyes of a young boy from the wrong side of the tracks caught in the midst of urban warfare between the poor kids and the rich kids. The young boy and his peers try to find themselves and each other before the hopelessness of social stratification and daily struggles dominate their perceptions. 7:30 p.m. at Coral Gables Youth Center Theater, 405 University Drive. WILD KINGDOM SHOW LIVE
   The Southland Mall will be transformed by "Animal Planet" and Comcast Spotlight into a jungle with lions, tigers, leopards and more. Professional animal handlers will showcase the animals on stage while providing educational commentary about each animal. 1 and 3 p.m. at Southland Mall, Centre Court, 20505 S. Dixie Highway, Miami. NEW WORLD SYMPHONY FOR KIDS
   Jaime Bernstein, daughter of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, will narrate a program of her father's music in two children's concerts. The bilingual writer, broadcaster and mother of two presents "The Bernstein Beat: What Makes Music Dance?" in English and Spanish. Children and families invited to come one hour before the performance to meet the musicians and enjoy the Instrument Petting Zoo in the lobby. 1:30 p.m. in English and 4 p.m. in Spanish at Lincoln Theatre, Miami Beach.
