Free. Details: (305) 284-6882. Thursday 01/29 LECTUREMiami Dade College presents "Giving Voice to Women: Six Contemporary Women Writers Residency and Lecture Series." Held biweekly 6-9 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 29-April 8 at MDC's Wolfson Campus, 300 NE Second Ave., Room 2106, Miami. Geared towards bibliophiles and aspiring writers, the event will showcase authors representing diverse ethnic and national backgrounds; as well as a variety of writing styles featuring award-winning authors Francine Prose, Nalo Hopkinson, Margot Livesey, Sonia Sanchez, Gail Tsukiyama, and Sandra Benitez. Deadline to register is Jan. 16. Free.
