Dutch brewer Heineken plans to move into Coral Gables

By Carolyn Hyppolite
A planned move by Heineken will add another international company to about 170 that have offices in Coral Gables.
The Dutch brewer plans to lease 3,000 to 4,000 square feet in 30-45 days, said Steve Albee, Coral Gables director of business development. The company will choose from among a few sites, he said.
Mr. Albee would not identify office buildings under consideration.
The company plans to bring a small operation of about 10 employees, who will be moved here from throughout Florida. The Coral Gables site will be its primary Florida office and will focus on marketing and distribution.
"We are very glad to have them here," Mr. Albee said Tuesday.
Heineken, a 140-year-old company, distributes beer in 170 countries. According to the company's Web site, it sold about 605 million gallons of Heineken and 285 million gallons of Amstel beer last year.
The US corporate office is in White Plains, NY.
