SPECIAL EVENTS Thursday 12/19 HOLIDAY BOOK DRIVEWXEL TV/Radio Station, in Palm Beach is holding their Fifth Annual Book Drive through Dec. 31. Hundreds of books will be distributed to at-risk children from birth through eleven years of age. Collections sites are as follows: WXEL, 3401 S. YOGA BY THE SEA Yoga By the Sea is exactly as it sounds, in which devoted students take their lotus positions amid a backdrop of Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean just as the sun is about to go down. PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST The International Library of Photography presents the International Open Amateur Photography Contest. Open to all photographers in the Miami area, particularly beginners who'd like to take a crack at more than 1,300 prizes. Deadline for submission is Dec. 31. To enter, send one photograph in only one of the following categories: people, travel, pets, children, sports, nature, action, humor, portraiture or other. Photo must be a color or black-and-white, 8 x 10 print. Include your name, address and category on back.
