UNIVISION UPDATE: Univision Online Inc., Countrywide
Home Loans Inc. and Fannie Mae officials have launched the casa channel on Univision.com.
Casa is billed as an online Spanish-language resource for home buying and ownership.
Company officials claim 1999 statistics show 45.5% of the nation's 33 million
Hispanic Americans own a home.
ENTERPRISING SITE: Enterprise Florida, the public-private
economic development organization for the State of Florida, has a new website
at floridabusiness.com to provide information about the state's economy and international
trade.
SERVICE HEIGHTS:
FloridaServiceNet.com, a web site created by Florida Services Export Program,
registered its 1,700th company at the end of 2000, officials said. Launched last
year, floridaservicenet.com was created to catalog and promote Florida service
companies, which are being cataloged in 26 major industries by thousands of specialties.
MORE SECURE:
An e-commerce transaction security products firm based in Davie, iShopSecure,
announced it has secured equity investment from Tennessee Valley Ventures of Nashville.
IShopSecure specializes in providing a fraud-free secure shopping environment
over the Internet.
FIFTH OF THE MARKET: Promoters for RestMart.com say
their on-line classified database lists restaurants for sale throughout the US.
Listings have increased 450% since the site was launched in 1998, said a company
spokesperson, who added there are 500 restaurants listed on the site about
100 in South Florida.
YAHOO POST: Yahoo Inc., a global Internet company,
named David Duckenfield public relations manager for Miami-based Yahoo! Latin
America to oversee public relations activity in the US Hispanic market and Latin
America. Before going to Yahoo, Mr. Duckenfield had been senior communications
manager for the National Basketball Association's Latin American office in Miami.
DUNHILL POST: Boca Raton-based Dunhill International
List Co., the nation's oldest and largest compiler of specialty mailing and telemarketing
lists, has formed a new e-mail division led by executive Mollisa Solodar. According
to a company pronouncement, the new division will manage the fine-tuning of branded
files and general interest e-mail lists for clients looking to target specific
