FIERA ACQUISITION: The Technology Internet Fund, which invests in Internet and technology-related companies, acquired a 13.3% interest in Fiera.com, a Miami-based e-commerce site for the Latin American and US Hispanic markets. The fund will help Fiera solidify operations in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile, among other countries, promoters say.


E-EXPO: The Miami Internet Alliance and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce will host the first IT Career EXPO 2000 at 9 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Radisson Miami Beach hotel. The event will consist of panel presentations for students and businesses. Scott Adams, president of Cenetec high tech accelerator, is to deliver the keynote address. PIANO TECHNO: Yamaha will unveil the Disklavier Pro 2000, a $333,000 voice-activated, high-tech piano, at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 at Hale Piano, 880 SW 10th Ave., Pompano Beach. BANK PARTNER: BankAtlantic, a subsidiary of BankAtlantic Bancorp, has formed a strategic alliance with BlueSuitMom.com, a Fort Lauderdale-based provider of online financial services.
