City of Miami officials and project architects are hosting a visioning workshop for the Miami Marine Stadium Restoration Project from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Vizcaya Village Garage Building, 3250 S Miami Ave. The Office of Capital Improvements is hosting, along with R.J. Heisenbottle Architects, preservation architects, and Candela + Partners LLC, consulting architect.
Officials and architects are to be on hand to answer questions about improvements to the historic waterfront stadium on Virginia Key. The purpose of the workshop is to interchange ideas for the future use of the stadium. The city closed the unique concrete facility in 1992 in the wake of Hurricane Andrew.
