Policy unit backs FPL-county reclaimed water, energy pacts

Miami-Dade County Commissioners at the Chairman’s Policy Council approved two Joint Participation Agreements with Florida Power & Light to develop an advanced reclaimed water project and look into next generation energy projects for the county.

“This item has the potential to improve the county’s infrastructure for generations to come,” said Mayor Carlos Giménez. “This agreement could decrease the use of ocean outfalls, reduce the demands on the aquifers, allow for a healthy ecosystem to return to the cooling canals at the Turkey Point facility and support power generation through zero emission technology well into the future.”…To read the full story click here
