NEW CITY COMMISSIONER TO BE SWORN IN

Newly elected City of Miami District 4 Commissioner-elect Manolo Reyes will be sworn into office at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in City Hall Chambers.
Born in Cuba, Mr. Reyes migrated to the US with his parents in 1959. He attended Miami Senior High School, Miami Dade College, and the University of Florida. He received his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in economics.
In the late 1970s, Mr. Reyes launched his career as a budget analyst for the City of Miami, where he served as the principal economic analyst for the Overtown Park West Redevelopment Project. He currently teaches math, government and economics at Westland High School and leads its FIU dual enrollment program in economics.
Mr. Reyes has lived in District 4 for more than 40 years with his wife, Selva. They have a daughter, a son and two grandchildren.
