Mayor rejects rail line’s offer to build county a courthouse

Mayor Carlos Giménez and his administration on Friday rejected an unsolicited proposal from the developers of All Aboard Florida’s Brightline to build the new Miami-Dade civil courthouse after taking 30 days to review the proposal.
The existing Dade County Courthouse on Flagler was begun in 1925 when the county had only about 100,000 residents, compared to today’s 2.7 million. The courthouse has long been deteriorating and is far smaller than is now needed. Its replacement has been debated at the county for years…To read the full story click here
