To get teen drivers off the road to school, transit deal offered

To get more cars off the road during peak hours, the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization may soon be partnering with the Miami-Dade School Board to have the county provide transit services for students who live within two miles of their school.
Though the state requires the school board to provide transportation services to all public school students whose homes “are more than a reasonable walking distance,” as defined by the State Board of Education Rules, the drafted legislation points to a gap in the services offered…To read the full story click here
