Expanding City of Miami is leasing outside office space

Miami’s government is feeling the squeeze of growing pains and officials are looking for added office space. The city commission has just OK’d leasing more than 12,000 square feet in a tower downtown to relocate the Community and Economic Development Department.
The city’s main administrative building is three blocks south, the Miami Riverside Center, on the Miami River at 444 SW Second Ave. City officials have sought a deal to sell or lease the riverfront office complex as part of a move to get a new administrative building elsewhere.
