All Aboard Florida announced fares of $30 one-way from their West Palm Beach station to the new Grand Central Station in downtown Miami and more for business class. Tri-Rail fares are downright cheap compared to $30 one-way. Why would the FEC permit Tri-Rail to operate on their tracks if they’re going to steal away all the passengers by much lower fares? I realize that All Aboard Florida will only have one stop at Ft. Lauderdale between West Palm Beach and Miami, and Tri-Rail will be like a city bus stopping here, there and everywhere, but still it’s competition on the same route.
