Comments on: River mega-yacht marina unveiled The Newspaper for the Future of Miami Tue, 24 Nov 2015 16:12:37 +0000 hourly 1 By: Wendy Fri, 28 Feb 2014 17:53:35 +0000 Absolutely ridiculous.
1. Going from 45 slips to 16.
2. These boats are typically only here for a portion of the year.
3. The yachts go to PB and Broward because the infrastructure is there to support the work.
4. Miami is possible but to limit it to only 16 is silly.
5. Having “apartments” for the crew only benefits the marina, not the city. They will most likely be charged extra, thereby profitable to the marina. With crew living “on premise” they are slightly less likely to spend elsewhere.
6. There is nothing mentioned about haul out facilities. If they can’t haul, that definitely limits the work to be done including surveys (5-7 years).
7. Parking spaces for 3 vehicles? on 200’+, you’re talking about 20+ crew at the minimum per yacht. Even with crew sharing vehicles, they have at least 3-4 per plus Captain and well, maybe owner or Management Co? Math please?

Sounds like it needs to be looked at a bit more realistically by people actually in the yachting industry.
