Nobody is going to ride a bus, to then ride a rail, to then ride a bus again. The rail needs to run through the heart of downtown miami and south beach to work, with direct stops all along the way. Why would anybody do that, when they can just catch a bus in downtown and have the bus take them straight to south beach. What you are proposing is way more inefficient the the current system and makes no sense. A rail needs to go through all the points and drop you off really close to your destination, without a bus. That will in turn reduce traffic, not increase it, by getting a lot of people out of their cars.

This wold allow a light rail station to be built on some of the vacant land behind the Midtown Mall. In addition the Miami city local bus can pickup and drop off passengers from downtown and all area of Miami.A station on Miami Beach could be built some were around Mount Sinai with the local South Beach buses taking passengers further south on ocean and Collins. To build a light rail along the Mac Arthur Bridge with the new Port of Miami Tunnel and the development project of the Watson Island Condo Marina would be too costly and cause major traffic congestion.
